These are the terms of the deal between you and Flint. They are short by legal standards, and we mean them plainly: use Flint honestly, respect the people in your network, and your data stays yours.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the Flint team ("Flint", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Flint macOS application, the Flint service and MCP server at api.tryflint.xyz, and the website at tryflint.xyz (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, connecting Flint to an AI assistant, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. If you use Flint on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and "you" includes that company.

2. What Flint is

Flint maps the real strength of your professional network and helps you get warm introductions to the people you want to meet. Flint builds a relationship graph from communication metadata in the sources you connect — analyzed on your Mac for local sources, and on our servers for connected Gmail accounts, as described in the Privacy Policy. The Service lets you search that graph — including from an AI assistant connected via MCP — and routes double-opt-in introduction requests through the people you already know.

Flint surfaces paths and carries requests. The people in your network decide whether to make an introduction, and the people you want to meet decide whether to accept one. We do not guarantee any particular introduction, response, meeting, or outcome.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use Flint.
  • Keep your account information accurate and your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.
  • One account per person. Do not share, sell, or transfer your account.
  • Tell us promptly at support@tryflint.xyz if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Your data and permissions

You choose which data sources Flint may read, through macOS permissions and in-app connections you can revoke at any time. Our Privacy Policy describes what is processed locally on your Mac, what reaches our servers, and how Google user data is handled.

  • Your data stays yours. You retain all rights to the information you provide to Flint and the data Flint processes for you.
  • You grant us the limited, non-exclusive licenses needed to operate the Service — to host, process, transmit, and display your data, solely to provide and improve the Service as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Flint — including letting it process information about your contacts — complies with the laws and agreements that apply to you.

5. Introductions and messages

  • Everything is double opt-in. An introduction request is shown to the mutual contact you chose; a connection happens only if they agree and the other side consents. Nothing is sent to anyone until you approve it.
  • You own what you write. You are responsible for the content of the asks, requests, and messages you send through Flint, and for being truthful about who you are and why you are asking.
  • Sending on your behalf. When you approve an ask, request, or message, you authorize Flint to deliver it to the people involved on your behalf.
  • Respect a no. If someone declines an introduction or asks not to be contacted, honor it. Repeated attempts to route around a refusal are grounds for termination.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service to:

  • Break the law, or violate anyone's rights — including privacy, publicity, and intellectual-property rights.
  • Send spam or unsolicited bulk outreach, or misrepresent a cold message as a warm introduction.
  • Impersonate any person, or misstate your relationship to someone.
  • Harvest, scrape, or bulk-export data about other users or their networks.
  • Build or train a competing product or dataset from the Service.
  • Probe, disable, or circumvent security, rate limits, or access controls, or interfere with the Service's operation.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service, except where the law permits it despite this term.
  • Upload malicious code, or resell access to the Service without our written agreement.

We may investigate violations, and suspend or terminate accounts involved in them.

7. Third-party services

  • AI assistants. Flint connects via MCP to assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, and Claude Code. Those products are provided by their own companies under their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for them, and content Flint returns into your conversation is thereafter handled by that provider.
  • Google. Signing in with Google and connecting Gmail are subject to Google's terms, and our handling of Google user data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can revoke Flint's access at any time from your Google account settings.
  • Data providers. Contact-enrichment and infrastructure providers supply parts of the Service. Third-party services may change or become unavailable, which may affect features that depend on them.

8. Intellectual property and feedback

The Service — its software, design, and branding — belongs to Flint and its licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and the Service in accordance with these Terms. Except for this license and your rights in your own data (Section 4), no rights are transferred to you.

If you send us feedback or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use them without restriction or obligation to you.

9. Availability and changes

Flint is a young product and moves quickly. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. Parts of the Service that are free today may become paid — if that happens, we will tell you before you are charged anything.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WITHOUT LIMITING THAT, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; THAT RELATIONSHIP SCORES, NETWORK MAPS, OR ENRICHMENT DATA WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE; OR THAT ANY INTRODUCTION OR OUTCOME WILL RESULT FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. RELATIONSHIP SCORES ARE ESTIMATES, NOT FACTS.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLINT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (USD $100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you. In those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent the law allows.

12. Indemnification

You will indemnify and hold Flint harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or the rights of any third party.

13. Termination

You can stop using Flint at any time, and you can delete your account by writing to support@tryflint.xyz. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your use creates risk for Flint or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including 8, 10, 11, 12, and 14 — survive.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Flint's operating entity is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, contact us — nearly every issue can be resolved faster and better informally.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and Flint about the Service. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case Google user data remains subject to the explicit prior-consent requirement in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes to these terms

When these Terms change, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Using the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the new Terms.

16. Contact
